About us

Welcome to the Northern Nevada Chapter

Sons of the American Revolution

The objectives of this society are declared to be patriotic, historical and educational, and shall include those intended or designed to perpetuate the memory of those who, by their service or sacrifices during the war of the American Revolution, achieved the independence of the American people; to unite and promote fellowship among their descendants, to inspire them and the community at large with a more profound reverence for the principles of the government founded by our fathers; to encourage historical research in relation to the American Revolution: to acquire and preserve the records of the individual services of the patriots of the war, as well as documents, relics, and landmarks; to mark the scenes of the Revolution by appropriate memorials; to celebrate the anniversaries of the prominent events of the war and the Revolutionary period; to foster true patriotism; to maintain and defend the institutions of American freedom, and to carry out the purposes expressed in the preamble of the Constitution of our country and injunctions of Washington in his farewell address to the American people.

Our Mission

The Northern Nevada Chapter is dedicated to preserving the legacy of the heroes who secured American independence through their service and sacrifice during the Revolutionary War. Our purpose is patriotic, historical, and educational.

Join us in honoring our nation’s founding and advancing its enduring principles.

The objectives of this society are patriotic, historical, and educational in nature. They focus on honoring and preserving the legacy of those who, through their service and sacrifice during the American Revolutionary War, secured the independence of the United States. The society seeks to unite and foster fellowship among the descendants of these patriots, inspiring them and the broader community to deepen their respect for the founding principles of our government.

It promotes historical research related to the Revolution, preserves records, documents, relics, and landmarks associated with the patriots’ contributions, and marks significant Revolutionary sites with appropriate memorials. Additionally, the society celebrates the anniversaries of key events from the Revolutionary era, nurtures true patriotism, defends the institutions of American freedom, and upholds the purposes outlined in the Constitution’s preamble as well as the guidance given by George Washington in his farewell address.
