Reading of the Declaration of Independence and Liberty Bell Ringing

The general public, all BBP members, and BBP Color Guard are encouraged to attend.
In 1950 the U.S. Department of the Treasury commissioned Liberty Bell replicas as promotional tools for a Savings Bond drive and 57 Bells were produced. They were provided to each state, some of the territories, France and Japan. Nevada’s Bell is housed at the State Museum in Carson City and each 4th of July the Battle Born Chapter of the SAR reads the Deceleration of Independence and rings the bell 13 times. Once for each of the colonies that fought for freedom from Britain.
After the ringing for the colonies the public is encouraged to ring it. Many ringing it for one of their colonial patriots, for family military members, or for past family members who were especially patriotic.
